The CHOCK side-table embodies a harmonious blend of minimalist aesthetics and functional craftsmanship.

Unlike conventional assembly methods, the Chock side table features a wedged through-tenon that elegantly secures the top to the base, eliminating the need for screws, nails, or glue.

This enhances the table's structural integrity and also evokes a sense of tranquility and playfulness. 

The top connects to the base, not at the centre, but slightly offset. This creates tension and plays with your perception of balance.Knots however, are often not suitable for the surface of a dining table top and instead of using epoxy to fill them, oak inlays have been used. These inlays are a testament to the craftsmanship behind the piece—each one meticulously placed by hand, adding depth, precision, and a contemporary elegance. The result is a table that balances nature’s raw character with refined artistry, making it a striking centrepiece for any space.

The underside of the top is kept straight with a stretcher that attaches to the top using a tapered sliding dovetail. This is one of the strongest mechanical joints in woodworking and further testament to the craftsmanship at hand.
