Children’s Single Bed
-
For this single bed we turn to thick Swiss oak boards—solid, dependable timber chosen for its strength and enduring beauty. The frame is built using finger joints, one of the most time-honoured joinery methods, creating a structure that is as strong as it is refined. These joints are not merely functional; they are an expression of precision craftsmanship, visible markers of care and intention that will stand the test of time.
The design draws from a minimal Japanese aesthetic: clean lines, quiet geometry, and a sense of balance that allows the natural oak to speak for itself. The result is a bed that is both understated and powerful in its presence—calm, grounded, and timeless.
Built to last for generations, this is not a piece that will be outgrown in quality or strength. It is furniture in its truest sense: an anchor of daily life, crafted to carry the weight of memory, tradition, and care.Knots however, are often not suitable for the surface of a dining table top and instead of using epoxy to fill them, oak inlays have been used. These inlays are a testament to the craftsmanship behind the piece—each one meticulously placed by hand, adding depth, precision, and a contemporary elegance. The result is a table that balances nature’s raw character with refined artistry, making it a striking centrepiece for any space.
The underside of the top is kept straight with a stretcher that attaches to the top using a tapered sliding dovetail. This is one of the strongest mechanical joints in woodworking and further testament to the craftsmanship at hand.
